Hiezzz all my dear Readers and Critics!

This is the last post of the year 2015 and I have tried to complete my incomplete maiden short story posted in the previous post. You can read the first part here. So here we go forward with  मुन्नी and her ब्रेड जैम.

Tie the Title -

PREFACE

There are a few stories which are written without any preface. With a blank yet fresh mind, you just pick up your pen after a very long long time to scribble just anything to cross-check, are you still a writer ?? :P

So here I was in train#2991 exactly a quarter back travelling early in the morning in an almost empty coach. Ten minutes have passed by and the train had caught up the speed by then. Looking outside the window with a small bag resting on my lap, I was just thinking about nothing. All my train journeys uptil now have been heck boring and tiresome with just me with myself over the entire journey. Sadly this time also. "But hey, wait you are not alone today", my brain said. And my hand slid inside the bag to carry out the pen and paper. "So, ready for a surprise test??", my brain asked. I with no apparent emotions said ,"Ok lets try 'kuch alag' this time." My brain commanded,"Good girl! so prove that you still know how to write." I chuckled. But at the very next moment I quizzed myself and decided to break the frozen writer's block in this cold morning. Just like an extempore I started scrabbling in an impromptu manner of whatever I could think of because I just want to pass this test.

So ladies and Gentlemen, Dudes and Divas, Readers and Critics, I, Surbhi Bafna (the lost-writer-put-to-a-test) present you with my very own creation, my very own maiden short story in HINDI. Hell Yeah Guys!!!! A short story in Hindi. So stay relaxed, its no verbose this time, just a simple plain smooth read.

SPOILER ALERT - ** Don't jump to the end para right now. __/\__

========================================================================

Vivacious Puerile |

P.S. When the spoiler alert says don't jump to the end para, some of the inquisitive readers cant resist themselves from bypassing the spoiler alert. So Guys, this is an INCOMPLETE short story. Sadly yes :( As I was put to a surprise test by my brain, I tried to put in all my efforts within a short span of 20 minutes (will tell you the why-20mins-story later) I was happy to write and win my brain's trust in me as a writer  (howsoever imperfect I'm). I tried to blend the subtle nuances of a daily morning in an ordinary Indian family with no apparent melodrama. I tried to capture a normal morning in some next-door family with the morning chores at pace.

P.P.S. I apologize for an incomplete story and that too when it's my maiden short story.
My Lord! Give me a chance to justify myself. So here I was in the train penning down in the surprise test when the train halted at the next station. A swarm of passengers buzzed inside the bogie and I was pushed aside towards the edge of the seat. (Yes, I willingly left my window seat). A lady in her late 40's sat beside me with her mother of short -stature, white hair and a lean body, may be in her late 70's who sat in the seat front of me. So yes, the grandmother in the story was drawn in from the old lady sitting in front of me. She was very jovial and I was happy to find a happy senior citizen J That's why my story carries no-extreme-sad and no-extreme-happy tone, just a complacent tone.

Guys! when you sit in an overcrowded bogie, Oh pardon me, I forgot to mention, it was the Raksha Bandhan weekend, so you can imagine the capacity of an Indian General Class Compartment. So coming back to the story(why-20mins-story), as I was caught with the pen and paper by the Aunty (lady in her 40's) sitting next to me who was over-jovial (Indeed! she was, Ghosh!), she peeked into my test and snatched the paper from me as if the exam-over bell had rung.
"Hi Beta! Are you writing something?? Can I see please??"
A modest me handed over my answer sheet to her. She read out loud a para (written till then) and the fellow passengers stared at me as if I had written something wrong. I felt outclassed (seriously). Just then, another newly married lady inquired, "Do you write?" As if asking if I'm a journalist or a columnist :P Oh!! how I wished to brag and boast had I had been the one but Alas! I wasn't. I said,"Yes, sometimes when I get bored." A silly answer indeed. And then the ladies and the grand lady didn't allow me to complete the story interrupting now and then to know the developments after dadi maa had woken up, after Bahu had served the tea.

The train was speeding and so was the time unlike my story which had halted at the dining table with  a sad Munni and the aroma of desi ghee in the air . And the train finally jerked with me getting down at my destination carrying the leaflet of my maiden INCOMPLETE short story.

After that, I tried to complete the story but I didnt know how to take the storyline forward. I couldn't think of taking off the conversation. Because the problem is - this is an over simple story with no melodrama, no preconceived notions. Yes, it is a tough task to pen down a plain story.

The year 2015 is coming to an end and I want to complete this story before 2015 flies off. While posting this story here, I think I have been struck with some idea to carry it forward (I just think...). But still I would like to take your help to complete it. Yes, my dear Readers! I request you to pour in your suggestions and ideas for the plot. Lets see, where this simple story ends up. Even I'm also excited to see how do I end up, do I muddle the storyline or sail through smoothly. (fingers crossed , suggestions invited, wish to be triumphant \m/)

Dream On

What doesn't let you sleep is a Dream
And what drools you in sleep
is a Dream in sleep
Subtle and elusive it is
The power to fantasize the reality
The realm to experience the diversity.

The ghost-driven bike
Or the roller coaster ride
The merry-merry sack
Or the scary -scary pack
Ambivalent is a Dream
Happily Sad you become
to find 'dream-come-true-in-dream'
Or Sadistically Happy you go
to discover 'Thank God! It was just a dream'

Dreaming in a dream is reflexive
But living a dream is volunteered
What are you waiting for my dear
Go on to live the dream you cheer!
