Healthy Child = Happy Home

"A lively child makes a home lively."

Children playing in the park, meandering around the parked vehicles, trolling in the shops while parents are stuck over the this-or-that choices, always catches the attention. They leave behind a trail of smile on our face howsoever bad is our mood. Children and their innocence are the stimuli to our happiness. Their warmth and energy fill our homes with a positive aura. Their daily hullaballoo enlivens the rigid walls. So we should take care of this energy packet. If it falls sick or gets exhausted, the home becomes a house with deadly silence. Let's see how children fill up the empty spaces in our home with their enthusiasm and pranks.

Tina loves cookies and doughnuts. Dunkin Donuts is her favourite hangout place whenever she visits the Alpha Mall. But do you think she loves doughnuts only for their varied flavours. She always picks up doughnuts of different colors and instead of putting them first in her mouth. She looks through the holes within them like a binocular and jumps high. And then put the two different doughnuts on her eyes beating behind the latest trend of sunglares. Her doughnut glares are in vouge!!!

Harry Potter and Hermoine are Tina's favourite characters. She also wants to join Harry in his school. So she keeps practicing with the broom as her flying stick , Nimbus 2000.

Harry is very naughty. He revels in his pranks all around the home. He often hides behind the door when his mother is about to enter the room. And from behind he scares her with a near-heart attack from his sudden loud 'BOOO'.

Ron loves to splash hot coffee into the mug for a thick froth and then juggles the mug for want of more froth. Crazy Ron! He loves coffee not as the drink but for its froth.

Aditya keeps shouting all the time cheering every member now and then. He with his vibrant spirit cheers the players playing in the television and family members batting the daily household chores. No one feels tired with his hooting filling them with joy and energy.

Eric plays his finger on the smartphone screen faster than anyone else in the family. He knows each and every function of the phone and its app. He helps Grandma to dial, papa to search for his contacts, mummy to search a recipe on youtube. He is the young smart teacher. If he isn't at home, the cellphones feel like some hollow cases ignored by all.

Tina loves pets. She coddles her three cats more than anything, not just because they four have turned into 'Fantastic Four'. But because these cats jump over her father, tickle him, scare him, leap in his lap. Her father summons her and Tina comes up as a modest child taking away her friends to their cradle. So obedient and humble she is!!! Ah Ah, a big chocolate peeking out of her pocket speaks all of her mischief.

The winters are around but this should not restrain the children from laughing loud, jumping around and spreading their warmth. So to keep them immune to winter diseases and infections like cold and cough, Dabur Chyawanprash is the perfect antidote. Chyawanprash has a number of herbs like Amla, Giloy (Guduchi), and more than 40 other natural ayurvedic ingredients.
The scientific studies conducted on Dabur Chyawanprash have proven its immunomodulatory and anti-allergic potential. It provides 3 times immunity to fight against virus and infections. It is now available in 2 new exciting flavours mango and mixed fruit flavor. Yummy!!!!! I can now proudly say, I'm a Dabur Chyawanprash girl.

Sunday

Things that define me

The day I first cried
Nurse called me a baby-girl
I was just a girl
My family loved me for being a girl
But I was just a Girl.

Could I be someone else?
I asked myself.
Yes, you can be what you wish, came my inner voice.
I explored my interests, my potential
I went on to wave my brush on canvas
And I became a painter
I designed new fangled cards
And I became a origami lover
I experimented in the kitchen
And I became a good cook
I rendered my services to child education
And I became a social worker
I pursued my graduation
And I became an instrumentation engineer
I worked with a MNC
And I became a software engineer
I pursued my writing hobby
And I became a blogger
I mentored my brother
And I became an adorable sister
I brought happiness to my parents
And I  became a proud daughter
I stood against the eve teasers
And I became a brave girl.
I taught the underprivileged children
And I became a teacher
I wrote a story close to my heart
And I became an author
I scribbled poems in my diary
And I became a poet.
I am filled with new thoughts everyday
And yes I'm an optimist.
I'm proud to carry AND tags.
I will not stop here but garner more of them.
For I'm not just a single identity but one with many ANDs.

Journey from ‘OR’ to ‘AND’ - Arunima Singh

Sometimes we feel so harassed by life that every moment feels so heavy. We assuage our mind that we cant take it any more. And our brain complies. The world seems no more fit for us and we don't want to get dragged anymore.

If you are also feeling it's the time to quit. You can't take life this way any more. You have thought of myriad ideas to quit and are about to execute one. Please hold on. Let me narrate you a real story which will for sure give you goosebumps and compel you to take back your decision. You might feel you are the only one on this earth who is facing problems, who is stuck into the worst, who can never surface to normal life again. But my dear, you are not the ONLY ONE. Meet the brave, enthusiastic, energetic and very lively lady, Arunima Sinha.

Arunima Sinha, just an another girl born in Uttar Pradesh, as the neighbors would have looked upon her. She was just a girl. But her faith in herself and her passion allowed her to be called 'AND a national-level Volleyball Player.' She wasn't satisfied with this one AND. She went on to chase ball in the field. She added one more sequin to her personality, 'AND a football player.'

Arunima Sinha - the brave Lady.

She never held back herself in the patriarchal society. She wanted to be independent and responsible. She aspired to join CISF (Central Industrial Security Force). She prepared well for the exam and was all set to fly through. But a dark cloud was hovering over her. She was assaulted by a gangster group in the train she had boarded to reach the exam center. She stood against them resisting to give in. No one in the coach came forward to help her. She stood alone to combat like a warrior. The gangsters had set their eyes on her gold chain. When she got engaged in a tussle with them, the group threw her out of the running train. Yes, she was thrown out. Before she could get hold of herself, she saw another train approaching towards her. The train passed over her. Yes, the wheels rolled over her flesh. She lied there numb and bleeding profusely. The black date was 11 April, 2011.

The spectators turned mute towards her life. Several trains passed on the tracks beside her. She felt the vibrations of each train arriving and departing. By the time she was taken to hospital, it was late, too late. The hospital didn't had blood units to operate on her. But she was alive. She was full of life. She didn't want to die this early. She asked the doctors to operate her. No anesthesia was available. She was ready to bear the pain to see more of the life. Her spirit made the hospital staff donate blood units to her. The pain of letting go her leg, her important body part on which she ran in the field, she jumped in the court, she danced, she walked with gleeful gait was unbearable. The pain sent shivers down her cord and  the detachment shook her heart. Moreover, to worsen her state, media just cooked up the entire mishap as Arunima's attempt to suicide. How would she have felt when she got to hear this news. Mental pain is the most severe. Filled with Anguish and Agony, Arunima resolved to answer the world with her actions.

This accident didn't deter her determination. So what if her leg was amputated, from normal she became differently abled, but her spirit didn't retire. She decided to reach Everest summit. Yes, she was ridiculed at such a weird dream. People advised her to sit back instead of boosting her morale. No one but her brother held her hand to pursue her dream. She contacted Bachendri Pal, the first Indian woman to climb Mt. Everest. Pal mentored Sinha. She enrolled for the mountaineering course in Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi. She fervently started her course and as a rehearsal for the ascent of Everest, she made it to Island Peak (6150m) in 2012.

On April 1, 2013, she started climbing towards her dream. With the good wishes of friends and family and mentor Bachendri's faith, she reached the summit of Mount Everest. Yes, the lady climbed to the highest peak at 10.55 am on 21 May 2013 writing history in the snow. Arunima Sinha became the first female amputee to climb Mount Everest.

I have done it!!!

She believes whatever one dreams is attainable. Nothing but you only have the power to turn around the situation and let the world salute you. On her way down from the peak, her oxygen cylinder exhausted. But her spirit didn't. The fellow Sherpa was afraid if she will live to recite her triumph story. But as they say, 'God helps those who help themselves' and just like a miracle or a co-incidence, one mountaineer dropped down his spare cylinder as he was not able to carry it on the steep slope. A ray of hope, the source of her survival emerge. She completed her entire summit and emerged victorious. Because according to her every NO is just an excuse to escape from accomplishment. World remembers only victors and yes, she emerged as a Victor.

AND, she is an author. She has jotted down her inspirational story under the title "Born again on the mountain", launched by Prime minister Narendra Modi in December 2014.

I recommend you all to watch her speaking of her encounter with the iffy life. Please don't miss this video. I bet you will feel the difference after watching this. Your outlook towards life might change and you will become a more better and confident person to take hold of your very own life.

Rise! Shine!

Don't just surrender!!!

A New Hope

The vapors from the Coffee mug were visible against the dark painted wall. The room appeared hollow, devoid of any noise, destitute of any aroma,no chattering suspended in the air, no naughtiness peeking from behind the doors. Silence sitting in the royal space like a queen restricted all the lively motions. The dangling curtain dared to sway around in a vague attempt to fill the void. But the queen's supremacy reigned. The living room appeared free of any clutter.Yet occupied by the empty sofa and innocence staring from above it.The still pictures which captured the splattering moments were the only alive frames whose warmth kept Mehak going. She missed Aditya everyday, from the moment he parted away. She had always hooked to hope after every despair. Whenever she felt like quitting, it was Aditya who gave her hope to strive and thrive. Her own trace left her six months back, whom she had loved earnestly.Every nook of the house had imbibed his imprints. The entire house echoed with his laughter even when no one was there except her.The killing silence made her feel dizzy. She went out to breathe easy. The newly bloomed flowers in the lobby spread their fragrance making the morning fresh and pleasant. A paper peeking from the letter box caught Mehak's sight. She went to pick it out. The envelope carried a familiar handwriting addressed to her. She tore apart the envelope to pull the letter enclosed in it. Her heart palpitated. Her hands trembled to hold the letter. Her eyes went moist and she breathed with mouth to ease her choked nose.

Its a new sun today. A new hope has shone today. I wish you a promising and fulfilling new year ahead. I know you are missing me and awaiting my arrival. I'm also missing you badly. I'm missing papa also. As you say, he twinkles every night to see me. Today I waited for the morning  to mark a new beginning and am waiting for tonight to meet papa in a new year. I will soon be there to hug you. You are my strong mumma. I Love you. You know I will give my annual exams for class five on Monday. After that I will be home. Please make my favourite pudding. And yes don't cry under the pillow. I hate it when you cry. I promise I will become an army officer like papa. And mother of an army officer should not cry. When I will come in vacations ,we will go to Garden also and will go for a long drive also and will click lot of snaps. As Papa used to say, "Keep hopes alive. A better tomorrow awaits you." So with all the good wishes and hopes of happiness, Happy New Year.

Loads of Love Mumma
Adi.
