Dr. Smita shut the door behind her. The little child was
finally relieved from the pain.
Dr. Sushant was
waiting for her at lunch. He complimented her as she sat beside him, “Your eyes
are looking so beautiful today”.
“The weather always turns pleasant after the rains”, she
said with her eyelids bowing down.

ReplyDeleteaah...tears pouring like little raindrops--mesmerizing little one :)
ReplyDeleteThank-you Maa 2):)
DeleteAn evocative tale, told so beautifully in such few words. I could actually imagine two possibilities - the doctor's relief at curing her patient, or the doctor's dejection at having lost her patient. Tears could have come from either turn of chance. I'm going to hope for the optimistic point of view. :)
ReplyDelete(PS: Just read your comment on my post. I'm sorry that your earlier comment got missed somehow. It may have been a submission error. In any case, thank you so much for taking the time to comment again. I really appreciate it :) )
I wrote this with respect to the second situation showing that doctors too feel bad when their patient dies. Many-a-times we think doctors are used to face the deaths but they too are human and it hurts them too when they fail in their duty.
DeleteI appreciate your first idea of taking this 55 at a positive note. In that case we can say Dr. Smita cried 'Merry Tears' on her success.
Thanks for dropping by. :)
It took me 2 reads before the meaning sunk in (ya, i can be a duffer at times). This one was surely one of your best 55ers. Kudos!

DeleteThanks a ton for the ratings.
You aren't duffer :P just the words need to be interpreted and it may take time to understand the author's mind. :)
Well! You are the 55-king, so learning from you. :)
